Alexander McRae accepted his original appointment from Fayetteville, N.C., and that a letter addressed to the Agent of Freedmen Bureau at that place might secure the address of Capt. McRae further. With remark. That this may be referred to the Agent at that place for such information as he may by able to obtain in relation to the whereabouts of Capt McRae's father: as he desires to forward the Captain's sword to him. |

States that the reported revival of the colored children in the Memphis Colored Orphans Asylum from the brick building to the outbuildings is totally without foundation. The children from the Nicholls Asylum have been received recently. Praises Mrs. Martha Canfield  for address of the Memphis Asylum and requests that this Bureau continue to assist said institution. |
