States that he has supported for a long time a destitute colored family (consisting of a blind man, a sickly woman, and two small children) and inquires what the Bureau can & will do to relieve them. The man could possibly be cured if transported to a Freedmen's Hospital &c &c |

Palmer S.A.C. stating that Messrs. Moyers & Dedrick, Claim Agents of Memphis have declared that they have returned to Genl Howard claim certificates of Colored Soldiers for Bounty &c to the amount of $100,000. and with others endeavor to prejudice the colored people against the Bureau, by attributing to it the delayed payment of said claims. Desires information when & by whom these claims will be paid. Encloses an article upon this subject clipped from the Memphis Avalanche of the 9th inst. |
