June 23rd 1867. States that herself & two children in 1866, were employed to go to Providence, R.I., to work for Andrew Walker & Mrs. Evans, but were taken to the farm of Wm Lee, a brother of Mrs. Evans, in Sunflower Co. Miss., were sent across  the river to Mr. Edward Fennes against their will. Were promised wages but never received any. The children are dead. Enclosed contract  between Mrs. [[?]] & her son and agreement to go to Mass. from Washington. June 26th Referred to A.C. of D.C. for all the information that can be obtained relative to this case. July 17th. Rec'd back with report. E. Bp 368 Vol 3. - Sept. 2d. Rec'd back with report March 7th Given to Pricilla Young. |
