Dear Mr. Sawyer:

Do have my thanks for your pleasant letter of December 1st, and accordingly I am sending you herein a photograph of the drawing by Johann ARHARDT.  You already have in your possession the descriptive notice relating to it which I forwarded earlier.

Indeed, I well understand that the collection of our dear Paul Grigaut should by all means take precendence.

I shall be much looking forward to seeing you at the end of January, as you write, and meanwhile, with best personal greetings,
