THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MUSEUM OF ART
ALUMNI MEMORIAL HALL ANN ARBOR

August 10, 1966

Mr. Germain Seligman
5 E. 57th st.
New York City 22, New York

Dear Mr. Seligman:

I am presently writing for our next Bulletin an article on the Thomas Couture portrait of Baron PĂ©rignon, which we acquired from you last year.

It seems the we have misplaced the folder in which was much of the information which you furnished us on the portrait, including a small brochure which you mentioned in one of your letters. Would you happen, by an chance, to have duplicates of these? At this stage it would help me greatly.

The University of Michigan Museum is presently being rebuilt de fonds en comble, and we have had to move twice since I came here. So things are hectic and complex, and explains why the Couture folder was misplaced.

With cordial regards,
Paul Grigaut
