New York 22, New York

January 13, 1965

Dear Mr. Sawyer:

Do have my thanks for your nice note of January 11, I am, of course, sorry to hear that you are not considering any of the drawings and it is good of you to return them.

As to the DELACROIX watercooler, "Etudes de Marocains", you will be interested to learn that it was purchased by a European amateur which, to a certain extent, distresses me as I feel so strongly that it should have remained here and gone to an American institution.

You write that you expect to be in New York in early February and I am much looking forward to receive your visit but, if possible, be so kind as to let me know ahead of time when you intend dropping in so that I shall be sure not to miss you.

With cordial greetings,

Sincerely,

Germain Seligman
