Dear Bob:
The Redon looks very exciting from the photograph, and I am very grateful to you for calling it to my attention. Before trucking it up to Boston, I think it might be well if you quote me the price because I can afford only hundreds and not thousands, and not so many hundreds at that. Incidentally, do not say anything to Hetty about it, for if I can make a purchase I want to give it to her for an anniversary present.

I hope you can make the opening of the Medieval Show which I think is going to be very worthwhile seeing. How about bringing Helen along and spending an evening with us?

With best wishes,
I am,
As ever,
Cockie
