THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO

December 19, 1956

Dear Germain:

Many thanks for your warm telegram. I have been in bed for two months with a nasty kidney infection which went out of control because I have suddenly become immune to anti-biotics. Things seem to be picking up now, and ,while I am somewhat worse for wear, I hope to be back to work soon. Thank you again for your kind message.

With the season's best greetings to you and Ethlyn,

Very sincerely,
