Dear Mr. Siple:

Without wishing to appear to be rushing you, I was wondering whether you at at all interested in the pair of BOUCHER Landscapes.

The reason I am asking you this is because we have just had a request from a certain Museum to loan these paintings for an exhibition and if we do, they might be away for some little time. As it happens, we have a very nice pair of Hubert Robert Landscapes which would answer their purpose just as well and, therefore, if you are in any way interested, we would keep back the BOUCHER Landscapes and send the Museum the pair of Hubert Robert landscapes.

As I wrote you in my previous letter, we cannot too strongly impress upon you that the price I quoted you is a very exceptional one and is a tremendous bargain because, as I wrote you, we could not today at the depreciated value of the dollar purchase in Paris even one painting of this quality for the price I have quoted you for the two.

Hoping you do not mind my writing you again and with my kindest regards, believe me to be

Yours sincerely,

(Clyfford Trevor)
