Dear Mr. Weisberg:

by your letter of March 28th you advise me of the work you have undertaken on François BONVIN. You are correct in assuming that in our private collection, Mrs. Seligman and I have a drawing by BONVIN, representing Louise-Adèle Céline, wife of the artist. It is signed and dated 1861.

You are asking me for a photograph of this work which I would gladly forward, were you to be good enough to convey further details about the use you want to make of that photograph. Whether, for instance, you intend publishing and reproducing it, in which case it would SELIGMAN, NEW YORK. May I add that this drawing is not for sale.

Answering your query, off hand, I do not know of any other works by this artist though I am under the impression, it is but an impression, that there is a painting by BONVIN in the Ackland Art Center, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Looking forward to hearing further from you,

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
