Dear Mr. Milliken:

Herein I am sending you two clippings - from the "New York TimeS" and the "New York Herald-Tribune" - which, as you will judge, are rather unimpressive.

However, I have hopes that we will get more. In fact, since sending the material and photographs to Mr. Royal Cortissoz, who wrote that during the summer his assistant took care of such maters, I have spoken to Mr. Burroughs and he assured me - as far as any of these men can assure one - that he was going to reproduced the GOYA in the Sunday paper.

I have also spoken to Mr. Jewell of the "New York Times" who said that he was hoping to be able to use these documents in connection with other material he has, referring to purchases by museums, in the near future.

The critic of the "Sun" seemed very vague about publishing anything.

The "Journal-American" no longer has an art critic.

The "Post" has also dropped its critic - in fact it is published as a tabloid these days.

"P.M." has no art critic.

Besides contacting the art critics, as explained above, I wrote directly to every City Editor, sending
