full material, photographs, etc., but Decoration Day and the beginning of Summer weather may, to a certain extent, not have made things easier. This is no excuse...but perhaps an explanation.

I am also trying to interest "Time" and "Life", sending them material and photographs.

I would like you to convey my thanks to Miss Kirkwood for her spirit of cooperation. I am also returning to her photographs of the details of the paintings which I have not used -- though I am taking the liberty of keeping a couple for myself as I consider them so interesting and so very well made.

Should I be able to get further clippings I shall, of course, be only too pleased to forward them to you.
