CABLE ADDRESS: MUSART CLEVELAND

November 10, 1942.

Mr. Germain Seligmann
5 East 57th Street
New York, New York

My dear Mr. Seligmann:

You will have wondered why I have not written to you sooner. Your most courteous letter came after your visit here, and I am glad that you enjoyed yourself. It was a great pleasure to have you here.

I have been working hard on the problem of the Renoir with considerable hopes of success, and I hope that perhaps within a few days I may be able to give you the information. The delay is over a minor thing, the Trustees being willing to pay forty-four thousand dollars, but I am hoping that I may be able to persuade them to come to the amount which we discussed. If you will bear with us a little while, I shall hope to be able to give you the information soon.

Very sincerely yours,

William Milliken
