Dear Mr. Milliken:

I have just heard that the heirs of Mr. Frank Ginn will eventually consider parting with their pictures, and I am therefore writing to ask:

First -- Whether I would be conflicting with the desires and interest of your Museum in contacting Mr. Ginn's heirs regarding the acquisition or the handling of their pictures,

and

Secondly -- To ask if you would be good enough to put in a good word in my favor. I would be extremely grateful for this, as I am very much interested in the Ginn pictures.

Please excuse the liberty I have taken in writing you about this, and feeling sure that you will understand the spirit of my lines, I remain

Most sincerely yours,

(C. M. de Hauke)
