THE CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART
CLEVELAND, OHIO, U.S.A.
UNIVERSITY CENTER STATION

WILLIAM MATHEWSON MILLIKEN, DIRECTOR

CABLE ADDRESS: MUSART CLEVELAND

September 25, 1940

Mr. C. M. de Hauke
Jacques Seligmann & Company
57 West 58th Street
New York City

Dear Mr. de Hauke:

Mr. Milliken is not expected back until Tuesday so I am writing you at once regarding the "Mourners." The Bulletin comes out from the press very soon and will be mailed over this coming week-end, thereby arriving Monday and Tuesday of next week. All releases to the newspapers here are scheduled for October 1st and I understand that was the date that Dr. Frankfurter was publishing it. Would you mind consulting him in this matter and arranging things to suit yourselves in New York? I only want to be certain that everybody gets a square deal in the matter and I hope that the Bulletin's appearance is not too soon. We try to be prompt in sending it out in order that the calendar published in it will be of use to the Museum members.

I am sad to think that I shall no longer find you at 3 East 51st Street, but as we live in a strange and disquieting world, I suppose one should look only upon the immediate aspects and seek a balanced course.

I shall hope to see you late this coming month when I am planning to come to New York and I hope that you are well. Please give my best to Mr. Seligmann and Bob Levy.

Very sincerely yours,

Henry Sayles Francis
