ACTING AS AGENTS FOR THE ESTATE OF CLARENCE H. MACKAY.

May 23rd., 1940.

Dear Mr. Francis:

It gave me much pleasure to receive your letter of the 21st., and I do wish to thank you for the very nice words you expressed towards me and my firm.

As I wrote Mr. Milliken a few days ago, I feel delighted about the outcome of these negotiations and am so very proud that my firm should be represented in your museum by such outstanding works of art.

I do want to acknowledge receipt of the museum's check for $27,500., on the Cleveland Trust Company, for which - as is customary - the Executors will send you a receipted invoice, as I am this day transmitting it to them.

With personal regards,

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Seligmann)
