April 27th., 1940.

Dear Mr. Milliken:

How extremely kind of you to have recalled your promise and what an enviable memory you have.

I have now re-established the story of the group and you were right - it was in my father's hands in 1919, went to Parish-Watson, and from there through the firm of P.W. French & Co., in 1922, to Mr. Clarence H. Mackay.

The reason for my not remembering having had the group in our galleries, is that it left my firm's hands while I was still in the Army, in 1919.

Unless I hear from you to the contrary I shall keep the Bulletin of your museum as part of our records.

Thanking you again for the interest you have taken,

Very sincerely yours,

(Germain Séligmann)
