Dear Mrs. Parker:

I am sure you already have our "Receipt of Objects" form which will tell you that the Redons arrived here in excellent condition, as they were so beautifully packed. We are glad to have them here for the time being. I hope something will develop out of it.

This is a reply to both your letter of May 12, and that of the 14th especially, in relation to the Delacroix "Saddled Horse". I knew of the drawing, because I have had a photograph of that drawing here for at least fifteen years, perhaps even more, and after a thorough-going search I have discovered it in my files, although not with an exact date as to when it came to me. At the time it was sent to me by D. A. Hoogendijk of Amsterdam, who offered it to me at that time, and I judge that it was in either the Dutch or English trade, but I don't know to whom it belonged; there was no indication on the reverse.

There is absolutely no question about it, because the tears and blemishes are identical. If Mr. Seligmann wants to find out more about the picture I think he could perhaps get something from Mr. Hoogendijk. It is a very interesting drawing. I am curious to know what price is asked for it.

With best regards,

Very sincerely yours,
