Dear Henry:

It was so very kind of Mr. Milliken and you to have called me up yesterday in connection with the Odilon Redon exhibition, It was indeed such appreciated.

Mr. Milliken told me you would like to look at the photostats which he remembered seeing here of the Bonger collection. They are so disparagingly bad that were it not for his specific request I would not send them on, as they cannot mean much to you if anything.

Though I have seen myself the collection I have a great deal of trouble remembering exactly what ones I have chosen, Furthermore, as you will see from the photostats there are all sorts of other paintings among the Redons.

On the backs you will find pencil inscriptions which might be helpful to a certain extent.

I have given further thought to the inclusion of Carl Schniewind's superb drawings, but I would prefer not having them for two reason, one being the physical lack of space in my gallery and the other one, that though the majority of works by Redon are undated I would say offhand that the Chicago drawings are of a much earlier period than the pastels and drawings I have assembled. They belong to the last period of Redon, that is after 1900.

This should not keep you of course from having them in Cleveland and we could even include them in our catalogue should you wish to have this done, in which case I would communicate with Carl and obtain from him the necessary data.
