Dear Henry:

How very pleasant it was to receive yesterday your Watteau postcard from Paris.

It was indeed a very great disappointment not to have seen you while you were rushing through New York on your way to Europe, as both Ethlyne and I were hoping that Frances and you would have been able to drop in were it for only a couple of minutes.

I was so perturbed about not having heard your voice on the telephone that seeing Harold a day or so later I asked him whether by any chance your plans had been changed. The hectic time-table he indicated of your stay here was enough of an explanation.

I am most anxious to know of your plans as I shall have to leave unexpectedly for Paris sometime between the 5th and 6th., of April and am wondering whether our paths could meet?

I shall only be over there three or four weeks but nowhere for very long.

Should you not think it feasable so send me your answer before I depart do write me a line c/o Seligmann & Co., 23 Place Vendome, around the 8th or 10th of April, putting on it personal and hold for arrival.

I do hope that in spite of all the rushing you must be doing through public and private collections and visits you are enjoying a good rest and at least getting a relaxation from the strain of a Cleveland winter.

With affectionate greetings to you both from Ethlyne and from me,

Yours,

Germain Seligman

P.S. By the way should you have present in your mind the exhibition schedule for next season do be so good as to indicate a couple of free periods during which you could hold the Redo exhibition which we planned last year. It is one of the matters I intend setting afoot while in Europe.
