Parker R.D. l Hawley, Pennsylvania Dear Mrs. Parker: We are delighted and most grateful to you for your willingness to speak at the tenth annual meeting of the North-East Association of Museums. The meeting will last two days: October 4 and 5. The session at which you will speak will be held on October 4 at 2:30 p.m. It will be devoted to the subject: What do you expect from the museum, where museums fail and what can be done about it. The tentative title of the session is "Great Expectations". There will be three speakers: a dealer-connoisseur, an art critic and a collector. Whether, after the speakers have expressed their views, there will be a discussion between them, followed by questions from the floor, will have to be ironed out. The critic's point of view will, we hope, be presented by Jonathan Marshall, and that of the collector by Walter C. Baker. However, we do not yet know whether they can come on that date. In any case, I shall keep you posted as matters develop. Again a heartfelt thanks for your willingness. Very sincerely, Paul n. Perrot Paul N. Perrot Assistant Director PNP/mlm CORNING • NEW YORK
