A fourth century "snake thread" bottle of late Roman design will be place on exhibit tomorrow (Friday) in the recent acquisitions case of the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning Glass Center, Corning, N. Y.

The extremely rare flask is one of the very few of its type to be displayed in this country. The new addition to the Corning collection was first discovered in 1834 when a Frankish tomb was excavated near the village of Steinbach, Germany.

The delicate bottle is in a state of nearly perfect preservation except for a partial crack and slight incrustation caused by evaporation of its liquid contents. After public introduction, it will be cleaned in distilled water for several months before being placed on permanent exhibition.
