Yours of the 8th inst. is received - Contacts noted. - And in reply would state that I would be truly glad to have you visit us. and address the freedmen on the subject of Education as I think it would not only be a benefit to myself as the Teacher, but to the noble Cause of Education. I am inclined to believe that the freedmen will Subscribe. At least $40.00 per month, And perhaps more, if properly nursed up to the work. but then it is done under the impulse of the moment. and would be out of the question to collect it this coming winter The colored people here are in a dire condition than any other portion of the state; owing to the
