Yours of 11 ult. regarding the schools in Tenn. under the care of this Committee came to hand during my absence from the city. 
I am very much obliged to you for the commendation you give our schools and teachers.
We have no idea of abandoning our missions in either Clarksville or Columbia. Mr. McKinney has about concluded to remain for a time longer. I do not know certainly as to Mr. Potter. We shall regret having either of them withdraw, for it is not
