Dear Bro.

The 48 desks for Memphis were completed at Madison too late to be shipped before the river froze up. After the thaw there was difficulty in getting such bulky freight aboard the boats. The desks have been received by Bauman and put up in the house as he writes by a recent letter. The papers can be readily [[adjusted?]] at Memphis if they have not already been.

Very Truly Yours,
E.M. Cravath
