Knoxville June 3. 1867

Rev. D. Burt Supt Education
Nashville Tennessee.

Dear Sir!

Mr Alfred Mc Kinney of Rogersville requested me [[strikethrough]] by [[/strikethrough]] by lettre, to inform you, that a certain amount of money, which was to have been appropriated at Rogersville for the fitting up of a school house, has been used at Greenville, some four hundred dollars, two hundred of which he claims for Rogersville.

There has been a mistake made please have it corrected. - The colored people of Louisville Blount county are trying to buy some very good property, a lot of 3 acres with house, which with some expense can be made a very comfortable schoolhouse.

Please let me hear from you.

Respectfully -
Your friend
