2 Shelbyville Tenn Oct 21st 1867 Mr. D. Burt: Dear Sir Yours of the 17th is at hand and I hasten to acknowledge the same. My School is increasing slowly I have at the time 44 enrolled and I think that it will increase considerably more in a short time. I think that Mr. Dunlap will be preferred by a majority of those having a right to the house - I hear nothing to the contrary. I have no intercourse with him, we have not formed each others acquaintance yet. S.T. Anderson is in Nashville; he left here on Monday of last week. Very Respectfully, Your obedient servant James W.
