that it is better to pay something in the way of rent than for the people there to incur the risk of loosing the property and what has been paid on it.

If that can not be done the Bureau can have the building free of rent this year for the sake of having a school there that will benefit all the colored people.

Mr. Sharp is not teaching in the building by any authority of mine. I suppose he has no authority from any one, as he is not employed by Dr Rust or the society he represents. If he has received any permission to occupy the building for any part of this year it must be from some Agt of the Bureau, the building being leased to them they alone could give permission.

Your Agt at L. I presume will find no difficulty in giving possession to your teacher, as he has or should have a copy of the lease and when that expires this gives you authority over the property I will renew the lease if you wish

With sincere respect etc
Yours
