If it becomes necessary, I wish you would speak a word to the President in my favor in regard to some official, position within his gift at Vicksburg, Mississippi, I have written to him, and a word from you [[strikethrough]]should[[/strikethrough]] might ad. much in my favor, my object is to go there this fall to try and be of some interest among the freedmen in our cause, pehaps you have forgotten me I had a talk with you when Mr Alvord was there establishing the freedmans saving Bank
