desire to deprive him of his just rights. When notified that he could not receive the appointment owing to his inability to take the oath required I thought it his duty to cease acting as Agent; and if he continued to act it would be without any right to claim compensation thereon. Under such circumstances, and being governed by amounts paid agents in other places I thought $300. for the six months service was not injustice to him. 

I enclose herewith all the papers in this case.
