Gen. Rect'g Rendezvous
1504 Market St.
Reiren. Aug. 12th 1869.

Respectfully forwarded to Bvt. Maj. Gen. O O Howard Comm. B.R.F. & A.L. Washington with the information that I received from Capt. R S. Lacy in Aug. 1866 $333.10 as being the amount received from the sale of a lot miscellaneous property, consisting of red iron, wagon wheels horse & mule shoes &c at Danville Va. The property not being reported on Quarters & Bureau returns I wrote to him asking the source from which it was received and was informed that it was turned over to him by the military. I took the property upon my Bureau returns and the amount received on my account current (Rec'd & Fwd) for the month of August 1866.

I would respectfully state that I am surprised that any question should be raised as to Capt. Lacy's integrity as I always considered him one of he most honest and faithful officers connected with the Bureau.
