Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 14th inst. instructing me "to visit Clarissa Tent, Grandmother of the children of Ellen Wills,"&c "And ascertain further information relative to the condition of these children, and the wishes of the Grandmother and relatives as to their custody, and report the same" &c 

In compliance with these instructions I have visited Clarissa Tent, the Grandmother of Ellen Wills' children, who lives with her son-in-law John Satcher, 6 1/2 miles distant from the residence of Richard Price, making a circuit of Forty miles in accomplishing it
