The Presbyterian Home Mission Hatfield E. F. Chairman
 
States that this Assoc. has sent Missionaries to South Carolina who were competent, and well educated who has worked for the cold. people alone. States that there is great need of school houses at Yorkville and Chester, & that Maj Deane would recommend the approp. but for the limited amount he has to expend. He Mr "H." asks if there can be an appropriation made to meet this case.

The expenditure of $1000.# at each of the two places within mentioned would be productive of appeal good to the freed people

But a trifling sum has ever been expendid [[expended]] by the Bureau in the Counties of York & Chester and if the appropriation for the State at large in increased, I should recommend $1000# for each County in question
