Sir: 
I am directed by the commissioner to collect information and forward a list of civilian employees of this Bureau in the state of Tenn. under the following heads—Agents, Clerks, Messengers, and Laborers. Giving the name, the state where born, from what employed and the amount of annual compensation.

A blank form is herewith appended and you are requested to furnish a list of those employed in your office on one precisely similar.
