Rev John B. Parker
Sec'y: United Presbyterian Board of Home Missions.
Allegheny City Penna.

Sir:
Will you please inform this office at your earliest convenience of the name and location of the several teachers of colored schools, employed by your association, in the State of Tenn.

This information is desired in order to determine how much of the limited appropriations for educational purposes in this State, can be devoted to the repair and construction of school houses for the Freedmen, after providing for the rental accounts of the several benevolent societies operating in Tennessee.

Can you furnish a few teachers to new locations.

Very respectfully
Your obedient servant
