Freedmens School for the State of Tennessee
Dear Sir-
Wm M. Colby Superintendent of Education for the State of Arkansas Little Rock, having employed us (myself and a lady teacher of the first ability) to teach among the freedmen of that state, transportation papers have been issued to us from the War department at Washington by direction of Gen OO Howard through his recommendation. But owing to the difficulties in Arkansas we desire to go to Tennessee to labor as teachers among the freedmen there and as our transportation papers will take us to the state line
