General:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 22nd inst returning vouchers of Mr B.F. Slaughter for repairs on Freedmen's School House at Union City, Tenn. amounting to Seventy nine 60/100 ($79.60) dollars and directing me to make out seperate vouchers for material furnished: for 1063 feet of Lumber and 20 pairs of Butts & Screws on Blanks like the form herewith enclosed.

Although your instructions may seem explicit enough I would nevertheless respectfully ask for further information, regarding the certificate to be made by me on the blank voucher which indicates that I am to take
