At the request of the County Supt. and the Trustees of the property I went ahead and made the repairs taking receipts for work and material giving the receipts to William Houston.

He made his report to the Commissioner Col Thompson who replied he would pay only a part of the expenses and more if the Deed would be made Subject to the District School Commissioner to be used by them for Public Schools Col Thomson then informed me through Thomas Caldwell Attorney General and Reporter and Atty from the State Bank of Tenn. and writer of the Deed that if the Deed was so made he would pay all the expenses when the Receipts was received by him.

Thomas Caldwell by instructions of the Trustees so wrote the Deed had it acknowledged and placed on file in the Office of the Com, B.R.F. & A.L.
