Tuesday, October 19, 1875.

Had an exciting a.m. Expected Lin & Prof Cope to explain fossil aspect at ten. They did not Come till 11. In The mean time I studied my S S lesson carefully and was just giving them up when they drove up to the door. My hands grew icy cold but I was obliged to swallow my fears when they came up. Was charmed with Prof Cope notwithstanding Lin & Uncle W. had lovely manners, easy and refined and was also very cute and funny. Told me a great deal about both fossils Lin brought new portrait. They stayed till 12½ pm. Got a scanty dinner washed the dishes. Pressed leaves. Drew and fussed over fossil. Dressed - practiced - got tea - Read a little before tea. S. Morrison called. Made needle book. A very nice day. 

Wednesday, October 20, 1875,

Went to give L. Redfield a lesson at 9. o'ck this A.M. Marketed on the way. She began a pretty line shading piece. Is enlarging it. Read her extracts from "In a studio" from Litrell. Put up back-door screen when I returned, and drew fossil teeth for Cope till dinner. Sang after dinner, and drew till five. Miss H.F.B. came over. Admired L. Grant. E. went to Aunt Sophie's to tea. Took soft gingerbread. Nellie's birthday eve. So I went to church. After church. L.[[D?]]. S. E. & I paid Crit a visit. Sang a little. A.A.S. has invited us to go to Thomas' next week. This is a strange anniversary. How feeling change, and yet I cannot imagine any one else having the power to agitate me for*, as I was this day a year ago. A rather pleasant day.
