Felt badly Didn't eat any breakfast. Papa came looking sad with news of Uncle Edmunds death. A very blustery cold day. Was chilly in church. W.L.B. came after church and paid us a little but very nice visit. Had pain at dinner and had to ly down but able to go to Sunday School. Very sorry as I had studied
my lesson with particular care. S.J.S. asked after me. A.A.S. was in S.S. and is going to take a class. Asked Etta if he might come for us and take us to the sociable at their house on Friday night. He and Jennie came home with L after S.S. I did not see them E & I stayed home from church in the evening. Not a very nice day.

Felt much better this A.M. and helped with breakfast as usual. E had astonishing letter from M.L.G inviting herself her for Thanksgiving. Family indignant. She is to be squelched Drew all the morning. Aunt Em stamed her floor and tired herself out. Great fuss about painting papering and coloring the dining room. Men coming all day. Uncle C. sent sample of bath paper this P.M. but it was too dark and we are all upset. M.J. did not come so I expect her tomorrow. Will & Emily B came up in the rain this evening. Will jolly as usual.
The "beaver" broke down and nearly [[?]] on me. Would have if it had been a little higher. A [[?]]some day -
