Mary went over with me early this morning. They are laying the track in 31st St for Market Street cars to cross and have begun temporary bridge. Say it will be done by Saturday. After L.R's lesson went down to Theshmann's & got my muff. Looked very well & paid two dollars. Aunt A. met me at Earle's & we went to Dewees & bought me a navy-blue merino. I am going to make with long street sacque & deep overskirt like Honey's. Inquired for Mr Cresson. Better. Jointed rabbits & practiced sewed a little & dozed in afternoon. L & I went to Aunts Baby lovely. Children played nicely. Found Mr R. Smith here when we came home. C.E.B. came too & was lovely. Smith wants me to make portrait of his wife with baby.

Thanksgiving & a beautiful day but much disappointed & provoked that Rivertons could not come. Church at N. Dana. Fine sermon & whole service very unifying, but Paka's pants were split & I had mend them before going to church & was in continued fear that they would split again. Charlie B. came to me after church & asked if we would walk with him this afternoon. Promised to. G. wouldn't let us have oyster-pie at dinner. Practiced after dinner & waited for C. to come. Four o'clk, no Charlie. Sam dropped in and we gave Charlie up & went out. Met him & went to walk. Aunt Em & Uncle W. did not walk very far. Went to their house they persuaded me to stay which I did though I might not to. Will away. Not a very jolly time. Came home early with C. No reservations. Pleasant talk.[[strikethrough]] Rather [[/strikethrough]] Very nice day.

Transcription Notes:
M. Fargue was the Beaux's pastor. Trying to make out the line "Church at M.[[?]]" Is the illegible word Fargue? She cuts off words in the margin such as dinn for dinner, so Fargue may be similarly truncated. Aunt Em and Uncle W: Emily Austin Leavitt was Beaux's aunt and her husband was William Foster Biddle.
