Tuesday, November 30, 1875.

A very cold day. Water turned off. Quite like last spring. Had invitation from Hettie B to small party on Thursday. Aunties insisted that we should go. I could use Aunt M's black silk. Etta's new skirts could be made and she could wear Aunt El's waist. Drew dogs all day & Aunties worked at blk silk. Etta went to town in afternoon and got pattern for overskirt. Took a short walk before dark. Aunties & Etta went to box packing. Anna & Jamie's Schinck's engagements announced this evening. Tired & sleepy. They saw Sam.

Wednesday, December 1, 1875.

Went to market. Had hard time with bundles & cold. Mule cars on temporary bridge. Chestnut st bridge packed. Was very late at L. Redfields & went to down town shopping afterwards. Carried Annie's [[dogs/clogs?]] & left them at door with note. Dont know whether she expects to pay me or not. Went to have waist fitted and bought blue ribbons & gloves for Thursday. Got home to saved dinner. Worked at Etta's dress all the rest of the day. Brought home new pattern for overskirt & helped cut it. Was tired and did not go to church. Aunt Em, I & G stayed home & sewed like troopers. Hard day.
