Monday, December 6, 1875.

A very diligent day. Had note from [[Alik?]] thanking me for dogs. ho-boy. Family outraged as for me I am glad it is as it is. Also note from K. D wanting to see me & [[sending?]] circular of "[[Burrets?]] Composition". Began the day well by getting up earlier than usual. Papa stayed all night on account of rain. Made Aunt he [[dsaw?]] & drew my shell plate all the morning. Cut out the [[?]] lining after demand and at 3 1/2 [?] & went down to [?] P.O. to that "cats&dogs" that I am sending to Constance. Went to [?] to [?} after kitten also to [?] & bakery but no good. Practiced got tea [?} new shirt & sewed blue dress all 
the lining. No one came and we read Queen Mary out loud. [?] did not come . Pleasant day.
Another busy day. Much like yesterday except that I did not go out. Drew all the morning Aunt [?} beside me drawing too. Cloudy all day and rainy this afternoon & evening. Sewed blue dress & [?] it all afternoon. Natalie [?] [?] Phila Socialte. [?] which but as good as any out[?}  & we are thinking of it for the fun. Had a little trial of patience just as I was beginning to dress at dark. [?} came with potaotes & I had to put on morning dress [?] taken off and go down [?] cellar with [?] & see him put them in barrels. Talked much of marriage etc at tea. No one came & we [?]  & read "Queen Mary" all the morning.
