Wednesday, December 8, 1875. 
Another cloudy & rainy day. Got up at a little after half past six as I have been doing for the last three days 
Went to market & was in time at the Redfields. Went down town to have blk silk waist fitted at Miss M's. 
Wasnt ready for me & I had to go down town in the [[Dime/shine?]] do the rest of my errands & come back to her. Fits beautifully. They made me go right up & draw after dinner instead of washing things. Drew till it grew too dark at half past three then [[went?]] at my dress.  Em. B. came & we discussed M. Crits sociable. She dont want to & we have given it up. 
J. Provost made hurried visit & Uncle C. came to ten & to hear Woody  
I am not in church. Will Billin came up at two bringing cats & dogs. They would not go through as they will. Tiresome day.


Thursday, December 9, 1875.
Got up early & was in the kitchen before Aunt El.  Spent an hour after kitchen work was done pressing the plaiting on the flounce of my new blue skirt. Drew the rest of the morning & Aunt Em sewed my dress. Aunt El still painting Sachets. Drew after dinner till three dressed & sewed till dark. Etta went to town to have her dress fitted. Sang after tea & were interrupted by Archie S.  Sam came in later then Perrit Dallas. I saved all the time & was not very agreable [[agreeable]]. Had been eating onions and was afraid to have any close conversation. Have decided not to join sociable but Sam is going to belong. Charley B who had come home from Broad Top came in late with Emmie to get her sachets. They stayed only a few minutes & did not ask us there to tea as we had hoped. Pleasant day.
