Wednesday night.
My dearest,
Today we tried a different place for breakfast as Chesco's is so far and all he serves is a fried egg and buttered toast. As neither of us care for eggs we thought we might be able to select at the "Pilgrim House" a sort of 3rd rate hotel. It was very bad so we are going to try a Mrs. Matheson's tomorrow - I painted all morning improving my portrait then ruining and scraping. Lunch at Chesco's and amusing place. Such interesting middle-aged poets, painters, writers etc, one looks just like Robert Louis Stevenson. We call him R.L.S. He wears a romantic black cloak, has a insolent stoop, and long, thin, interesting legs.
