Jo got back in time for tea this afternoon, and Nan Shufieldt came in with the dog Flurry Knox! He begged for sugar but we were for sending his lumps to France. She (Nan S.) is fearfully unattractive. She is the one whose "hero is the Kaiser". One can't help but be prejudiced knowing that. Aren't the papers thrilling?
