A National Organization of Artists, Devoted to the Professional and Economic Welfare and the Development and Promotion of Art in the United States

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
1. Extension of art appreciation throughout the country.
2. Establishment of closer relations with museums, schools, colleges and organizations of workers, scientists and the artistic professions in order to stimulate greater patronage.
3. The encouragement of the usage of art by industry, through competitions, fellowships and exhibitions.
4. Creation of better understanding between the artist and the dealer.
5. Rehabilitation of artist veterans of the armed forces, merchant marine and war industries.
6. The use of art by the public through federal, state and municipal sponsorship.
7. Establishment of municipal art centers in every large community.
8. An index of artists, registering craft and professional qualifications and artistic achievements for use as reference by private and government agencies in allocating work.
9. Establishment of cultural ties with the artists of all lands.
10. Provision of national and international copyright laws.

IMMEDIATE ACTIVITIES:
1. Adequate solution of any important professional problem which might present itself.
2. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Exhibition of painting, sculpture and graphic art to be held in New York and Washington during the season of 1945-1946 in appreciation of the President who said, "The cultural history of the Nation is as important as its political history."
3. Exhibition of models and designs for war monuments, including all media and worthy of the cause which they are intended to commemorate.
4. Collaboration with federal, state and municipal authorities, also with veterans' organizations in aiding to rehabilitate artist veterans of our armed forces, merchant marine and war industries.
5. Establishment of a municipal art center in New York.
