Dear Hugo

I'm sending a typewritten suggested preamble or general statement or what you will.

I've read over your aims and objectives several times & showed them to others. I'm more convinced than ever that a declaration of principle [[i a ?]] fundamental reason for being; some fire & enthusiasm other than the old hackneyed "enlightened self interest" motive, is needed.

I dont love glittering generalities either, so I believe in specific & bold objectives, but I think they must be thought through to the basic principles & so stated.
