There is also a fine beach for many miles, where if you have the courage you can swim thru five to ten rows of breakers out to unbroken water. I have never tried it and dont think there is any danger of my doing so.

Inland as far as one can see are nothing but sand dunes with an occasional group or lone house a few cows grazing here and there likewise a few peasants at work in the fields, perhaps a horse and cart slowly moving along loaded with seaweed, a vast sky and you have some of the character of this landscape. You must experience it yourself to get a taste of the sentiment.

Here I have sketched almost entirely the sea it impresses me most. You found painting the water at Lake George facinating, it is the same with me, I think the only difference here being a greater problem of form.
