On the other hand we differ too much perhaps, to be even compliments of each other. 
And also should be not consider what we want and what we can expect of each other instead of courting disappointment by a vague idea that everything will adjust itself happily and that we are agreed at bottom?  
I hope I can live up to my conviction that each is responsible to himself alone and has no claims upon the other. It seems to me the only solid basis of respect and peace of mind in whatever relation of life, between free and equal individuals.
You have often spoken of your fear that we may not satisfy
